UMAG
Regarded as an elegant summer resort as early as Roman times the small town of Umag, situated on the NW coast of Istria, has perpetuated its tourist tradition and has constantly been adding to and enhancing it.
The past of this small town with a medieval nucleus and with its narrow, winding streets that always lead you to an interesting square, is firmly incorporated into its present. Still standing are the sections of the defensive walls dating from the Middle Ages .
Present-day Umag stands as a synonym for tourism and sport. Its best known sports feature, located only 3 km from the town, is the tennis complex forming part of the Stella Maris tourist estate and its the traditional venue for the „Croatia Open“ATP Tournament, the International Championship of Croatia.
